Mini Lights
Tried and True Miniature Christmas Lights
Mini
lights (as we call them) are probably one of the most commonly
used lights in the industry. They are found on plain strings,
chasing sets, icicle sets, net lights, the list could go on.
Generally mini's are about 2.5 volts per bulb and approximately 300 mini
lights pulls 1 amp or 110 watts. New sets of these lights have
shunted bulbs, this means no more problems with burnt out lights killing the strings.
Mini lights come in a variety of colors and spacings. The spacings range from approx. 2.5" to 8" and come of either White or Green wire (sometimes brown or black).
You are usually going to see these types of bulbs on household Christmas trees, but as Christmas LED lights become more affordable and more user friendly it could potentially mean the end for our friend the mini light. As of right now the mini light is one of the best selling lights that we carry and no matter how LED's go down in price it's hard to give up on this old standard.
