Rope Lights

Rope Light It's nearly impossible to look at Christmas lights (Christmas displays especially) during the season and not see rope light somewhere in the midst of all the other different types of lighting options. It goes by many names, Rope light, Flex-a-light, plastic neon, etc... and has been widely popular ever since it's introduction into the market. Generally Rope light is constructed out of a flexible plastic material, in the center thin wires power small bright bulbs. It comes in a variety of colors and variety of sizes (3/8", 1/2", 5/8"). More often than not you're going to see rope light on Christmas Displays. The way the tubing lights up is perfect for outlining displays ands signs, but please note, if you are going to use rope light to decorate yourself there are some steps you have to take before you start your project. Accurately measure your display, get an accurate measurement of how much rope light you will need. Generally, you can only cut 1/2" size ever 18" so you MUST take that into account. When attaching flex light to your frame you HAVE to heat the tubing before you sharply bend it. You can use a heat gun (or if you don't have one lying around a hair dryer will work too).
